Free radon test kits in Tennessee

Tennessee runs one of the larger giveaways. The state radon program hands out around 6,000 free kits a year, and you can order online or by phone on 1-800-232-1139. Six thousand sounds like plenty until you divide it across a state, so ordering early in the season is sensible. The best time to test is during a cold stretch, when doors and windows have been shut for a while, which in Tennessee usually falls somewhere between October and March. Order the kit when you see it is available, then run the test when the weather turns.
