Pennsylvania's free kits come with conditions, and they are not the usual ones. The DEP gives a free confirmation kit to anyone whose screening test came back above 100 pCi/L, which is a very high reading and the point at which the state wants a second test before anything else happens. There are two other routes. Homes that had a mitigation system fitted within the past year can get a free long term kit, and parents of newborns receive one through a hospital program. If none of those fit you, call 800-237-2366 and ask what is available.
