Free kits (targeted areas)Free kits limited to areas with little previous radon testing
Oregon targets its free kits rather than offering them to everyone. The Radon Awareness Program gives a free short term kit to people living in areas where little radon testing has been done. That is a deliberate choice to fill gaps in the state's picture rather than to hand kits out where there is already data. So whether you qualify comes down to your address. Check the program page before assuming either way, because the boundaries are not obvious from the outside. If your area is already well tested, short term kits are sold cheaply enough to be worth buying.
