OpenFree kits distributed seasonally, first come first served
New Mexico gives kits away, but in bursts. The state Environment Department distributes free radon test kits seasonally and on a first come, first served basis, so the offer is genuinely open for a while and then it is not. Timing is most of the game here. If you check and kits are available, order one that day rather than bookmarking the page for later. If the supply has gone, the program runs again, so it is worth checking back rather than giving up on it. The Indoor Radon Outreach Program page is where the current status is posted.
