No free kit listedKits come from the state laboratory or private labs
Maine does not advertise a free kit. What the state does have is its own Health and Environmental Testing Laboratory, which supplies radon test kits, along with a list of private laboratories you can request from the Radiation Control Program. The state lab route is the more straightforward one for most people. Maine has a second thing worth knowing about, which is radon in well water rather than air. That is a separate test, and the state lab handles both. Start with the air test, then look at water if your supply comes from a private well.
